The principal, Daniel Garness brings 30 years of experience in both architectural and landscape design to the firm. Prior to establishing his own practice Mr. Garness worked with distinguished Southern California architects and landscape architects including Marc Appleton, Barton Phelps, Barton Myers, Moore Ruble Yudell, Katherine Spitz, Nancy Powers, and was formerly in partnership with John Feldman, as Garness Feldman Architecture + Landscape, with whom some featured projects were completed. Mr. Garness has designed and realized residential, commercial and institutional projects of a full range of size and complexity in Japan, Korea and Germany as well as scores of projects in Southern California and throughout the United States. The firm offers full architectural and landscape design services, from concept to implementation.

Dan Garness believes that the continuity of landscape and architecture is an essential tool in the making of meaningful spaces for habitation, and in providing a sense of connection to the natural world. The firm's attention to the regional impact of landscape and urbanism, as well as the building scale is central to its practice.
